SLATER (nee Humphreys). On Tuesday 20th January, peacefully in her sleep at Noble’s Hospital, Helen Marjorie, aged 85 years, of Peel. John, her husband of 64 years, daughters Sue and Sara, sons Greg and Thomas, grandchildren Charlie, Amy, Emily and Jemma, and her great-grandsons Jack and James, loved her very much, and she will be missed by them and all her extended family and wide circle of friends. Helen was a teacher for many years on and off the island and will be remembered for running the Merchant’s House bed and breakfast in Peel, her keen memberships of Peel Heritage Trust and the Isle of Man Choral Society, her support for Autism in Mann, Peel Centenary Centre and St German’s Cathedral, and as one of the initiators of Peel’s Secret Gardens. Many will have known Helen for her warmth, kindness and willingness to help others. The funeral service will take place at St German’s Cathedral in Peel on Thursday 5th February 2026 at 2.30pm. Family flowers only please.
